About Dysthymic disorder
In more than three-quarters of clients with dysthymic disorder, treatment with rTMS is successful and the symptoms decrease by an average of 75%.
The dysthymic disorder is a less serious form of depression. However, this disorder is more persistent and more chronic in nature. For at least two years there must be a depressive mood with two or more depressive symptoms in addition. With a dysthyice disorder, there is often anger, inequality and behavioral problems compared to depression. People with a dysthymic disorder have little pleasure in life, they often feel unhappy and lonely. In contrast to depression, daily functioning remains possible, but it is limited by the disorder. Because a dysthymic disorder is often persistent and long-term, it is considered more severe than depression.
More than three-quarters of clients with a dysthymic disorder have a possitive result with the rTMS treatment. Complaints decrease by an average of 70%. A treatment at rTMS International consists of 20-30 treatments. This is to achieve lasting positive results. We will schedule an introductory meeting with you prior to treatment. This conversation is intended to get a clearer picture of your depression-related symptoms. rTMS has a long-term effect in depression after the treatment has ended. After a treatment or ten positive effects are often noticeable. In some cases, after six or twelve months or even later, a number of maintenance treatments are needed to maintain the same (anti-depressive) effect of rTMS. Curious about what rMTS can do for you? rTMS stands for repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Brain Stimulation (rTMS). Magnetic pulses stimulate certain areas of the brain, improving communication between areas of the brain and eliminating depression, dysthymic and obsessive compulsive complaints. The magnetic pulses come from a coil that is placed over the head during treatment. Magnetic pulses are delivered to the brain for twenty minutes.
