What do we treat?
At rTMS International, we specialise in treating depression, particularly when previous treatments have not provided sufficient relief. We offer specialist care for people with treatment-resistant depression and carefully assess whether TMS may be a suitable option based on your individual situation.
Treatment-resistant depression (TRD)
Depression is considered treatment-resistant when previous treatments have not been sufficiently effective and depressive symptoms persist. TMS may then be considered as a next treatment option. Targeted magnetic pulses are used to stimulate specific areas of the brain involved in mood regulation and depressive symptoms.
How do we support your recovery?
Depending on your symptoms and treatment history, we apply targeted, scientifically supported treatment methods. We carefully evaluate what has already been tried and determine together which next step best fits your situation. Every person is unique, which is why we tailor each treatment entirely to your personal situation. Our team of experienced specialists consists of professionals from diverse backgrounds. Thanks to this broad expertise, we treat your symptoms from different perspectives to provide the best possible care.
RTMS
At rTMS International, we offer repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). This therapy is effective, safe, and scientifically supported. It helps reduce symptoms of depression by stimulating specific areas of the brain with magnetic pulses. rTMS promotes neuroplasticity, increasing the brain’s ability to change and adapt. This can enhance effectiveness by making the brain more receptive to new thought and behavior patterns.
Talk therapy
Talk therapy (CBT/ACT) focuses on learning skills and strategies to cope with negative thoughts. Thanks to symptom relief through rTMS, the cognitive and behavioral changes achieved during sessions can be maintained more effectively, as clients are in a better mental state to learn and apply new techniques and strategies.
If symptoms worsen acutely
Depression can sometimes become so severe that you feel overwhelmed or enter a crisis situation. For example, when feelings of hopelessness intensify or when thoughts of self-harm or suicide arise. rTMS International does not provide acute crisis care. On our crisis page, you can read how we may or may not be able to support you in such situations and where you can find immediate and appropriate help.
When are you eligible for treatment?
Whether treatment is appropriate depends on your symptoms, diagnosis, and medical situation. During a careful intake process, we assess whether rTMS is safe and suitable in your case. Would you like an initial impression? You can take our suitability test to discover whether this treatment may be right for you.
